Glass shower assemblies should avoid water jets directly onto
the door, especially with high-pressure water. Shower glass
can usually be installed after tiling but often the finish is
neater if the tiles are fitted up to the glass support
channels.
For frameless showers 10mm is the recommended thickness.
Secure fixings are 1850 to 650mm wide on glass-to-glass hinging or
600 to 700mm wide when hung. For doors up to 35kg, two hinges
are sufficient. On more complex assemblies, such as faceted
designs, Metro GlassTech can provide bracing such as shelves
or overhead supports.
Metro GlassTech fittings are polished stainless steel, for
beauty and long life. Other finishes are available and can be
quoted and supplied.
