Wall St

The new $34 million dollar Mall complex, Wall St, seen on George Street, Dunedin was recently unveiled, comprising 48 panels of 12mm printed glass, some up to 3.8m wide

Print supervisor Owen Booth comments, "The job called for a low opacity print, basically a less dense ink layer, as the designers wanted the image to stand out on the exterior, without restricting light transmission to the interior offices." The finished results allow natural light into the complex, and the glass facade to be backlit by night.

The heritage-printed glass facade has added a modern twist to the mall refurbishment, while also referencing the building's past.

"It's fantastic to be able to offer customers an innovation that no-one else in New Zealand can," says Booth.
